Next year, I am attending UC Berkeley College of Engineering as a Mechanical Engineering major. I am very interested by robotics, creative mechanical design, and technological innovation. Engineering has greatly appealed to me because of its mathematical, scientific, and creative aspects and I hope to expand upon it in college and in my career. Additionally, I hope to participate in orchestra and college Ultimate Frisbee at Berkeley.
Incoming PLTW should do their best to take advantage of all the fun opportunities presented to them throughout the program. Learning skills such as CAD, VEX, and breadboarding will be incredibly important throughout their entire careers. Likewise, it would be greatly advantageous to make strong personal connections with peers in the program because these are the students each person in PLTW will be with for all four years.
I am proud of the projects I have done throughout the PLTW program, but most of all I'm proud of the Year Long Project I worked on with Shrayes and Riley. Our tourniquet creation was a labor of love and passion and hard work and it made me really proud to be able to present it at the county science fair. Through all the research, calculations, and designing, it has been a great journey that has greatly prepared me for what the real world of engineering will have in store for me.
